Description
New/never used, shown in the March 1944 Medical Supply Catalog on plate 40, measures 2.6" high, 1.9" wide and 1" deep, "U.S.A. M.D. Pioneer New York, NY" stamped on the bottom. These were issued to doctors and NCO corpsmen and were also carried in the officer or enlisted medical equipment bags, the top lid lifts up to expose the curved tray, the front panel drops down to access the alcohol burners, the cap on the burner unscrews to expose the wick (which is still intact).
